This allows the feature to alert you to take action. Once the driver starts to engage in avoidance actions like braking, this feature will also start to gently brake as needed. If an accident is unavoidable, CMBS™ will engage the brakes more actively, helping to mitigate the severity of the impending collision.
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
FCW can identify any potential hazards up to two vehicles ahead. It will alert you to an abrupt stop in traffic ahead to help avoid a collision. It uses both audible and visual warnings.
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
This feature ensures that you stay on track throughout the entirety of your drive. By monitoring the lane markers and your vehicle’s placement within the lane, LKAS can identify when you veer off course. It can then apply gentle steering corrections to ensure you keep in the lane. If the problem persists, it will alert the driver that they need to actively correct their steering.
Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
This feature is similar to LKAS except it can identify the difference between types of lane markers. If it notices the vehicle veering outside the solid lines of the road markers, it will alert the driver via audible and visual cues. If needed, it will apply light to moderate steering corrections.
